First Annual Walk 4 Love a Success
There was no rain in sight this time for the delayed Walk 4 Love, and plenty of sunshine for those who came out in support of Love INC this last Saturday, Oct. 10th. Walkers had the opportunity to visit with many of our local churches, receive gifts and treats along the way, with lots of goodies for kids as well.
With all the walkers and volunteers there were just over 100 participants in the First Annual Walk 4 Love! The short walk was 1.4 miles and for the adventurous there was a longer walk at 2.4 miles.
Second Reformed Church was the host this year, and there was coffee and rolls waiting inside at the completion. Love INC debuted their first run of t-shirts at this event, and everyone who registered received a free shirt. Love In the Name of Christ of greater Lennox and Turner County would not be able to do the work we do through our local churches without the support of local donors supporting our local communities and those individuals and families that call it home.
An enormous thank you goes out to everyone that made this day possible for Love INC. Our volunteers and churches who worked hard to make the day special for the walkers, to Casey’s and Sunshine for donating items for our brunch after the walk, and especially to American Bank and Trust for helping sponsor this event.
There were prize baskets for those that won each walk, and the Alex and Lauren Wellbig family came in 1st place for the short walk, and Kathleen Kennedy and Ruth Currey came in 1st for the long walk.
Thank you again to everyone that participated and we look forward to making this an annual event!
