Connection Center Volunteers Needed
The Love INC Connection Center takes calls requesting assistance from those in need. These calls are answered by caring volunteers who listen to and understand people’s situations and direct them to the most appropriate source of help. This can mean a referral to an area agency or services provided by area churches and volunteers through the Connection Center.
Qualities we look for in a Connection Center volunteer:
- Passionate about service others
- Compassionate towards others with many different needs, backgrounds, and religious affiliations
- Work well on their own and collaboratively with other volunteers
- Office and database skills
- Organizational skills
- Committed to once per week, 2.5 hours
Other Ways to Help
GAP Ministries
One way partner churches and organizations support Love Inc is through their Gap Ministries. The volunteer opportunities include needing to contact the churches and organizations when we are in need of the ministry supplies, organizing and collecting the supplies, and assisting with the packaging and deliveries if needed.
Fresh Start Classes
Fresh Start Classes are an integral part of Love INC, offering individuals and families opportunities to learn life skills they may have never been taught before, or that they need support to accomplish. The classes are also an opportunity for our clients to be introduced and/or to draw closer to Jesus Christ and the plans that he has for them. The volunteer opportunities include teaching classes or bible studies being held, making meals for the class participants, and providing childcare for the class participants.
Be a Mentor
Do you have the gift of listening and a love of people? Do you have the desire to share the love of Jesus with others? We are seeking individuals willing to walk beside our neighbors listening, encouraging and guiding them. Change is hard. Having someone to support you and pray for you can make all the difference. If you would like to be that person to someone trying to change their life through the grace of God, let us know.
Prayer Ministry
Do you have a heart for prayer? We are in need of individuals that can commit to praying for Love INC. You are sent a weekly list of prayer requests for the individuals and families that we serve, as well as our volunteers and staff via email.
